Inline GB fund raising Roller Marathon

Posted by Geoff Gooding on 10th May, 2010

Camberley Skaters organizes an annual Roller Marathon held at Goodwood race course each year raising money for Charity. This year will be on August 8th.

See http://www.goodwoodmarathon.co.uk/ for details

We have permission to enter as clubs, raising money for our league. The race is challenging for the real racers or for grueling fun.

Please get back to me if this would appeal to any of your members, participate in club colours, raising money for the league.

Top of my list this year would be a sit on industrial vacuum cleaner for the rink, and maybe a few new glass panels (or a team of cleaners!) – but open to suggestions.

There are four race formats, the Dual race was a big hit last year.

The four races this year are:

Name # Laps Miles

Dual 22 Laps 53.24 Miles

Full 11 Laps 26.62 Miles

Midi 5 Laps 12.10 Miles

Mini 2 Laps 4.84 Miles

Goodwood Roller Marathon is a charity race around the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit. Skaters of all abilities and styles will participate in one of four races of 5, 12, 26 or 53 miles.

It is a great family day out as well as now being the largest roller race in the UK and a perfect introduction to distance events. To encourage all racers will have microchip timing of the laps as well as a medal for all.

Sponsor forms are on the document tab, please enroll as a club / team quoting Inline GB
